Looking back a your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it till the full product?

From this project I have learnt the conventions of film Noir. Now I can spot a Film Noir movie and I can pick out properties and describe it as Neo Noir. I can give examples of Film Noir and Neo Noir films.

I have learnt the basic properties of an opening title sequence and from this been able to make my own OTS whilst working in a group. I have developed my skills in group work as I have learnt to arrange and schedule meetings and organising things to be able to film and edit our OTS.

I have learnt the 360° rule and have successfully practiced it in our continuity task. Doing the continuity task made me approach filming things in a more professional way.

Story boarding has taught me to record my ideas and to draw and write them in order to remember, develop and improve my skills in creativity. It also made me realise that I have a style of writing and drawing that is personal and in which every person has. This led me on to design and draw the logo for our Black Country OTS. Doing this made me feel like I had put my personal stamp on our OTS. It completed the stylised look which we were aiming for hoping to attract an independent and alternative audience.

I learnt to process information and research certain eras in order to help my parent choose costume and props. It also helped ups choose a location and eventually strip it all back which helped us achieve our overall look for our OTS. This is the part which I enjoyed most and I fell the most successful.

During the OTS making process I learnt how to film, cut and edit digital film. I used imovie and final cut. I had used imovie before which I found quite simple so my group decided to challenge ourselves and use final cut which we had never used before. At first it was really difficult to pick up but once I had learnt the basics it became fairly simple.
